Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thelemic Magick

Abrahadabra Cover

“This eminently user-friendly guide to the practice and theory of Thelemic Magick is an original and challenging tour de force. It is also irreverent, controversial and fun. Brother Orpheus—kinetic, peripatetic, and most creative adept that he is—is one who practices what he preaches and knows of what he speaks. Go for it!”
James Wasserman, author of The Practice of the Magical Diary and The Slaves Shall Serve

“Abrahadabra is simply the best book available for people taking their first steps off the sofa and actually doing Thelemic Magick. Its learning curve is gentle, yet the material is eminently practical. Like all good teachers, Rodney Orpheus is friendly and clear, and witty enough to keep the subject interesting. Best of all, he shares original rituals and visualizations proven effective in his own personal work. That kind of experience is priceless, making Abrahadabra a bargain indeed.”
Richard Kaczynski, author of Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley

I've been doing involved in magick and occultism since I was in my early teens, and since then I have spent a lot of my time (and money) reading obscure dusty tomes on said subject. This led to lots of other people asking me questions about it, mainly the same questions over and over again, which meant it went from being pretty flattering to pretty boring quite rapidly. One evening in Aachen a lovely young girl named Miriam, seeing my obvious irritation at answering questions all night, asked me if I could recommend a good beginners book instead. I answered her that well, basically there wasn't one. "Then you should write one." she said matter-of-factly, "You're very good at explaining how simple it all is really." I finally agreed to it on condition that she took off all her clothes and had wild sex with me. And so this book was born... And you know something? She was right.
